The CHSS Sound Acadmey Christmas Concert will be Monday Dec. 18 from 7 - 8 pm in Gym 3.
Everyone is welcome to join us for this festive evening.
Centre Hastings Secondary School has an Annual Charity Auction which supports local food banks and it's back again! Come on out and bid on items at the Live and Silent Auction. The Live Auction will be held on December 6th at 9:30 A.M. in the gymnasium. Items in the Silent Auction are open for bidding during school hours until December 14th following the live auction. There's home decor, gift certificates, hair products, hockey tickets, furniture and lots more to bid on. Parents and students are welcome to join us in support for the holiday season.
All funds raised will be donated local food banks, Christmas sharing and other charities.
Our very first game of Reindeer Hunt will begin officially on Wednesday Nov. 29. We will hold a practice round on Monday and Tuesday to help everyone understand this amazing WHOLE-SCHOOL TAG GAME.

Please note that Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health will be holding immunization clinics for Pertussis (Whooping Cough) on Friday Nov. 24 at the Health Unit in Belleville and on Monday Nov. 27 at CHSS. Please call 613 966 5500 to book your appointment.
We have been notified by HPE Public Health that we have a confirmed case of Pertussis (Whooping Cough) in one our students.

As a part of Treaty Recognition Week in Ontario Jo Brown from Tyendinaga Territory was in the Learning Commons for a discussion and workshop on treaties and wapum belts. He will also shared the stories from his family members that were enrolled in residential school. Thanks to Mr. Shortly and the team of teachers for organizing this event.
We held our first ever Distracted Driving Week from November 1-8, 2017. This week was made possible by our local OPP and Hastings and Prince Edward Public Heath. Highlights of the week included classroom visits from OPP to share the legal and social implications of distracted driving as well as a pledge by students and staff to stop distracted driving.
Students in our 7 Native Studies courses took part in the Kairos Blanket Exercise today. This is a teaching tool to share the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.
